Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute” LAS VEGAS SHOW RESIDENCY CONTINUES ON in the “Alexis Park Modern Showrooms” at Alexis Park Resort Hotel.
The legendary Neil Diamond is one of the most successful and beloved singer/songwriters in contemporary pop-rock music history.
More than just being one of the best-selling and concert drawing artists ever, he’s also created and performed the songs of a generation — including some of the most unforgettable songs on the planet.
In early 2018, shortly before his 77th birthday, Neil Diamond retired from touring after being affected by Parkinson’s.
However, Diamond’s on-stage legacy continues to be kept alive for audiences throughout the world through longtime Las Vegas performer Rob Garrett, known as America’s premier Neil Diamond tribute performer.
Ask Alexa “who is America’s number one Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll hear the same name.
Like his legendary counterpart, Rob Garrett was born in Brooklyn, NY.
In the spring of 1974, his parents moved the family from New York City to Las Vegas, where, two years later, he witnessed his first Neil Diamond concert when Diamond made his attendance-breaking Las Vegas debut at the Aladdin Hotel’s “Theater for the Performing Arts” in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him another 16 times across the country—right up until Diamond’s final U.S. concert at the Los Angeles Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett started his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a decade-and-a-half career in Las Vegas and across the nation before making the move from lead singer of a cover band to a full-time tribute performer dedicated to one of his boyhood inspirations.
In 1995, Garrett was personally hired by the legendary Paul Revere to portray Neil Diamond in the Honolulu production of “Legends in Concert”.
What was meant to be a short engagement turned into a long-term hit show.
By August 1998, Garrett returned home to Las Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another two years before deciding to launch his own show.
He began a busy tour circuit, building a devoted fan base along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute.”
He continues to sell out theaters nationwide, often in venues that typically host major artists.
Garrett has also earned several honors, including “Male Tribute Artist check here of the Year.”
“Since Neil Diamond retired, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating his 50 years living in Las Vegas and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in the year 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last 30 years devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has played in more Vegas rooms than any peer.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only active Neil Diamond tribute production in America.
Alexis Park Hotel Las Vegas is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., near the Las Vegas Strip.
